Services & Rates CANINE NUTRITION My training in human nutrition officially began in 2003 when I began gaining weight because of life's stages……I am a trained Advanced Metabolic Typing Advisor, Certified in Cardiovascular Nutrition at the world renowned Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. I am also a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist and have studied canine nutrition with Dr. Ava Frick, DVM. My on the job training with regards to canine nutrition began in 2005 when we got our dog Bunny. She is a Golden Retriever and they are known for skin issues, but this was beyond what I anticipated. She is now 5 years old, and for the first time, dare I speak of it, has not had a violent (and expensive) infection in a year. It has been a long journey, but she has been my best teacher. I feel we are on the right path now, and I am happy to cook her homemade food and add the supplements and nutrients that it takes to keep her healthy, well and out of the vet's office. I begin my holistic canine wellness assessment using a systematic approach to identify vitamin and mineral imbalances and organ distress (C.A.N. Clinical Animal Nutrition, intake survey). You fill out the questionnaire Word .doc, or .pdf version and we review your dogs medical, and nutritional history. Download these forms too: New Client, Notification Policy. The fee for this service is $50 initially, with follow ups, $35. back to topCANINE FUR ANALYSIS A hair (fur) tissue mineral analysis simply stated, is a screening test that measures the mineral content of hair. However, a hair tissue mineral analysis is much more than a test for minerals. Providing a blueprint of one’s biochemistry, a hair tissue mineral analysis can provide pertinent information about your metabolic rate, energy levels, carbohydrate tolerance, stage of stress, immune system and glandular activity. This screening test can also be used to reduce the guesswork involved when recommending nutritional supplements and dietary modifications. Minerals are the "sparkplugs" of life. They are invloved in almost all enzyme reactions within the body. With out enzyme activity, life ceases to exist. A trace mineral analysis is preventative as well as being a useful screening tool. You might be aware of the adverse implications of the accumulation of toxic metals in the body. They may accumulate in vital tissues, disrupt organ function, displace nutritional minerals from sites of biological activity, and disrupt enzymatic activity. They effect the body at foundational levels and by their nature, can create biochemical imbalance. Stop guessing about their health status, test and treat from a place of knowledge. Contact me for instructions on how to properly collect a fur sample. The fee for this service is $80. It includes a full report and suggested options to remedy imbalances, if any. The cost of the dietary supplements are sold separately. back to topALPHA STIM™ - PAIN/ANXIETY/DEPRESSION Are you looking for an all-natural pain relief method for you and your animals? Key Points
Appropriate massage touch has many healing properties, although the methods are not always known. What does it cost?Fees presently range between $40 to $70 per session, with a session usually lasting between 40 and 50 minutes in your home.
Yes, increasingly so. Just as the popularity of less invasive approaches to health care in humans has gained in recent years, so too have these procedures and methods gained acceptance in the care and treatment of animals. And just as we have witnessed the recent advent of professionals like equine chiropractors, equine physical therapists and equine nutritionists in the horse world, we are beginning to see these same professions develop in the dog "community". back to topWhat did my Canine Massage Therapist learn in their training? The major emphasis in the CMT Program is on the application and sequence of massage techniques and massage strokes. Students are familiar with the basic physiology of muscles, the location of each major muscle and muscle group in the canine, the performance activity controlled by each and the specific conditions which may affect the dog if those muscles are not adequately nourished through good blood and lymphatic circulation. Another significant portion of the curriculum is devoted to the proper handling of all breeds of dogs. This knowledge is key to establishing a suitable environment for the effective administration of the massage sequence. To illustrate, establishing such an environment for a Golden Retriever can be a lot different than establishing one for a German Shepard. What are my qualifications?I am a certified and licensed Massage Therapist since 2001. I completed the Healing Touch program from the Humane Society in San Diego. The Humane Society trained me in Pet CPR. Mary Schreiber trained me in Canine Massage Therapy. Mary Schreiber, the founder of Equissage, is acknowledged to be one of the true pioneers of horse and other animal massage in the country. What kind of demand is there for canine massage therapy, and is the therapy "transferable" to other companion animals?Every dog owner and trainer - whether they own or work with dogs involved in competition (Greyhounds, Huskies, et al), those being used in law enforcement, aiding the handicapped, or whether they have dogs just as family pets want, (and in many instances, need) their canines to be free of muscle problems that can cause pain and inhibit their dogs' movement and performance. Because of the health-promoting qualities of massage, as well as its restorative properties, knowledgeable owners and trainers are incorporating this therapy as an integral part of their dogs' total and continuous health care program. The therapy is certainly transferable - by virtue of its generally universal effectiveness and similarity of technique - to other companion animals, such as cats. back to topCANINE BEHAVIOR ISSUES Bach Flower Essences Complete a simple survey and I will create a custom mixture for what is indicated. $10.00 per bottle Dietary Review Solutions might include dietary modifications.
